Without the support from RISK, we simply couldn’t provide the kit, the equipment, or the travel needed to give these kids a chance.

A Legacy of Excellence: From Northolt ABC to the Patrick Wilson S.O.B.

In the heart of Northolt, sitting right on the edge of a council estate, the Patrick Wilson School of Boxing is doing more than just training athletes. They are providing a family.

Rebranded to honour the brother of our Director, Louise, this club is a safe haven in an area where local gangs and street violence are a daily reality. Coach Lee O’Neill doesn’t sugarcoat it: for many of these kids, boxing is a “passport for the poor” – a way out and a way up.

From supporting children with Down syndrome and autism to mentoring teenagers through the most difficult times of their lives, the impact of this club is immeasurable.

“  We are the cheapest in London, and we will not, we just will not put our money up.

We have kids in that club that owe us £200, £300, and we’re never gonna get it, and we know that, but I, well, I say to them, “Don’t worry about the money, just keep coming in. Keep coming in.”

I look and I think, imagine if this club wasn’t there.”

“  They’ve really, really uplifted my personal life and my actual career as an athlete”.

“RISK isn’t just a name on a shirt. They are part of the family. They understand that to build a strong community, you have to invest in the people within it.”.

Why Community Support is the Ultimate Prevention Strategy

At Risk Management Security Services, our professional life is dedicated to the motto: “We Protect. We Prevent. We Respond.” However, we recognise that the most effective “prevention” often happens long before a security officer is ever needed. It happens in local gyms, under the guidance of mentors like Lee O’Neill, where energy is channelled into discipline and potential is turned into purpose.

The Reality of Local Funding
The Patrick Wilson School of Boxing is a registered charity that receives no government funding. It is a “self-run” institution that survives on the passion of its volunteers and the generosity of its supporters. For a club that sits on the edge of a council estate and acts as a lifeline for so many, the financial stakes are high.

Support helps to provide:

  • Essential Equipment: Ensuring every child, regardless of their financial background, has access to safe, professional-grade kit.
  • National Opportunities: Funding the travel and accommodation required to take local talent like Charlie O’Neill to national championships.
  • A Safe Haven: Maintaining a facility that remains open 24/7 in spirit, offering a “complete leveller” where race, religion, and background are left at the door.
